This course builds on the approaches and methodologies introduced in the reading seminar (HI 656P). Students will have to opportunity to explore the trauma of war by formulating and producing their own primary source based research project. In consultation with the professor, students will formulate their own research project on a chosen area of war and society in the nineteenth or twentieth centuries. Students will ultimately produce their own, article-length, original research paper and help peer-review their colleagues work.
